But its framing can encourage the stronger and unsupported conclusion that careers remain economically secure because track records still predict impact. That confuses persistence in the status hierarchy with persistence of human necessity. It is not necessarily propaganda by intent; its reassuring function emerges when a narrow null result is inflated into a systemic forecast.

The Verdict

The paper may establish a real local fact: GitHub success remained path-dependent through 2025. It provides no evidence that the post-WWII employment–wage–consumption system survives.
