The Core Fallacy

The article confuses a human remaining responsible with a human remaining economically necessary. A system can require a manager while eliminating several workers’ tasks. A human-in-the-loop is a quality-control gate, not proof that the original labor pool survives.

Under the Discontinuity Thesis, this is P1 in miniature. Once one person can review outputs from many agents, the ratio changes: fewer producers, more concentrated ownership and oversight. The article accurately describes useful automation, but withholds the systemic conclusion. Calling agents “employees” makes replacement psychologically acceptable while preserving the owner’s sense that nothing fundamental is changing. It trains business owners to become supervisors of labor elimination and offers certification as the response to structural disruption. It never addresses who owns the productive system, who loses income, or what happens when one manager controls an expanding machine workforce.

The Verdict

This is not an argument that AI will not replace people. It is a field manual for replacing pieces of people, one repetitive task at a time, while calling the resulting labor reduction “productivity.” The human manager is a lag defense—useful while agents need context, verification, and accountability—not evidence of permanent human economic necessity.

Under the Discontinuity Thesis, the article is a soft-launch document for P1–P3. Owners acquire scalable cognitive capacity; workers lose bargaining power and access to economically necessary labor.
