New Programme to Bring AI and Cyber Graduate Talent into Welsh SMEs

SOCIAL FUNCTION

This is transition management wrapped in ideological anesthetic, with a partial truth at its center. AI does create new implementation and security needs. The deception is presenting those niches as a broad replacement for the employment circuit AI is dismantling. The programme lets institutions announce investment in young people while avoiding the harder question: who owns the systems that make most human labor unnecessary?

THE VERDICT

Tech Talent Cymru is a lag defense and a useful bridge for a small number of graduates, not a rebuttal to AI-driven displacement. It may produce a handful of indispensable Servitors and help SMEs manage the early stages of automation. It cannot restore mass productive participation. The programme is a bandage applied after AI has begun cutting the wage-to-consumption artery: useful for managing the bleeding, irrelevant to curing the wound.
