News - INVITATION TO THE SEMINAR: PROCESS DATA QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY 2

THE DISSECTION

This is a promotional seminar announcement from a state-affiliated scientific institution — the Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences — advertising an event on AI-driven data processing. On the surface, it is harmless technical content. Beneath the surface, it is a microcosm of the exact structural dynamic the Discontinuity Thesis identifies as terminal for the post-WWII economic order.

The announcement is gloating. It celebrates AI's capacity to "change the way we work with information" and frames this as unambiguously positive — a professional development opportunity for IT specialists, data analysts, and technical leaders. The tone is optimistic, forward-looking, and entirely uncritical.

THE CORE FALLACY

The announcement assumes that AI-augmented data work is simply a new professional skill set to be acquired — another tool in the IT specialist's kit. It does not ask what happens to the IT specialists, data analysts, and technical leaders when the pipelines they are being taught to integrate become self-managing.

The framing is tool-user positive: AI as a productivity multiplier for human operators. But the DT logic is ruthless here. As AI pipelines become more intelligent and autonomous — which is precisely the trajectory of the SPICE project described — the number of humans required to operate them approaches zero. The seminar is training people to build their own displacement infrastructure.

This is not a criticism of the individual organizers. It is a structural observation: the institute is teaching people to optimize their own obsolescence.

HIDDEN ASSUMPTIONS

  1. Human-in-the-loop permanence: Assumes data analysts will remain necessary participants in AI-augmented data pipelines. The SPICE project itself — federated cloud infrastructure, intelligent data pipelines, AI integration — describes infrastructure that progressively eliminates the need for human data management.
  2. Demand-side neutrality: Assumes more efficient data processing generates more human employment. In DT logic, it generates more output with fewer humans.
  3. Professional continuity: Assumes IT specialists and data analysts remain a viable professional category. They are, at current trajectory, a transitional cohort.
  4. Institutional prestige as protection: Being part of a European research consortium does not confer immunity to structural displacement. It merely delays recognition of it.

SOCIAL FUNCTION

Classification: Transition Management Propaganda

This announcement performs two functions simultaneously:

First, it normalizes AI-driven labor transformation as routine professional development — a seminar topic, not a civilizational discontinuity. This is ideological anesthetic: the kind of content that makes AI displacement feel like a Continuing Education credit rather than an economic extinction event.

Second, it legitimizes institutional participation in the displacement architecture. The Slovak Academy of Sciences is not a neutral research body here. It is actively building and promoting the infrastructure that severs the employment-wage-consumption circuit. The announcement celebrates this as progress.

THE VERDICT

This announcement is a micro-document of DT execution. Every element — the celebratory tone about AI, the framing of displacement as professional opportunity, the institutional eagerness to integrate intelligent pipelines — describes the exact mechanism by which post-WWII capitalism terminates.

The seminar teaches people to build the systems that make their own professional category redundant.

The audience will leave the event feeling more competent, more current, more employable. They will be more wrong about their long-term viability than they were before they attended. The Institute of Informatics is not providing education. It is providing false positioning — the illusion of relevance in a domain where relevance is structurally declining.

This is not malice. It is institutional momentum doing what institutional momentum does: optimizing for prestige and activity within the existing paradigm, with no capacity to question whether the paradigm itself is the problem.

The seminar is a hospice orientation session dressed as a career advancement opportunity.
